Inspiration For All : When an acid attack survivor is the face of a fashion brand.

If you talk about inspiration these examples are worth a read. An Indian Fashion Retail Brand has assigned an acid attack survivor and campaigner Laxmi Saa to be the face of its new range of designer outfits. ┬áThe campaign is called – FACE OF COURAGE.

Ms Saa was 15 when a 32 year old man threw acid on her for rejecting his marriage offer.

“This opportunity to represent an apparel brand was a platform for me to set an example for women like me to be confident and have courage despite their physical appearances. This was also a platform for me to send a clear message to criminals that women will not lose courage even after they are attacked with acid to destroy their physical beauty,” Ms Saa told the BBC.

The apparel company Viva and Diva for which Ms. Saa is modelling has come up with the approach to bring a different approach people have towards fashion and beauty, to not look at the outer looks which would vanish away with time but to look for the inner beauty which is eternal.

Co-founder of Viva N Diva, Rupesh Jhawar, told the BBC that the idea for the campaign with Ms Saa came after he saw a calendar featuring acid attack survivors.

To the normal eyes which expect fashion model, all dolled up and polished, this site is both disruptive and inspiring. This is truly a big inspiration. I am so happy that people in fashion think like this. Fashion and beauty cannot be limited to those who are already good looking or have enough money, but this is for all. You look beautiful when you feel beautiful inside and this has been proved scientifically.
